This park lies in the foothills, on the eastern side of San Jose. This is one of the oldest city parks in California and features a canyon, a creek, and a trail along the stream. This park, because of the presence of many stone bridges and shady places due to many trees, feels like you are miles away from the city even though you are just twenty minutes away from it by car. It is an ideal spot for a couple to propose.
The Municipal Rose Garden is located in the area of the Rose Garden, where there are lots of roses planted in rows with a fountain in the middle. The garden is especially beautiful in April and May, when all the roses are blooming and the aroma of the whole garden becomes amazing. Entry is free and there are plenty of places to make your proposal near the flowerbeds.
The Japanese Friendship Garden is located in Kelley Park and features koi fish ponds, mini waterfalls, and wood bridges around beautifully trimmed trees. This garden was modeled after a famous garden in Okayama, Japan, the sister city of San Jose. It is a very serene place, especially in the morning. Bridges over the pond would be the perfect backdrop for your engagement photos.
Montalvo is located at the foot of the Santa Cruz Mountains, in Saratoga, about a 25-minute drive from the heart of San Jose. This historic building, which resembles a villa with a Mediterranean style, is bordered by formal gardens, lawns, and wooded areas, which makes the venue both elegant and nature-filled. This is the ideal venue for couples who want to have a peaceful setting outside the city.
