Why Paparazzi Proposals

Why a team, and not one photographer you found online.

At Paparazzi Proposals we understand that you have a big life decision ahead, and it needs all kinds of support: from emotional guidance to help with logistics and planning. Over a decade of working and learning, we have developed protocols to make sure your proposal is executed in the most beautiful way.

A proposal is not just a photographer. Behind your date there is a team: coordinators and planners, photographers, editors and decorators, drivers and musicians. No last-minute cancellations, no no-shows, no unexpected changes (unless the weather doesn't permit). We are here for you, through what is likely one of the most important events of your life.

“You can go with one photographer you found online. It's not impossible, but you're taking a risk: we often get couples who are going through a last-minute cancellation, and we do our best to accommodate them, but a proposal planned on a tight deadline rarely ends up as perfect as you want it to be. Come to us from the beginning, and we'll support you with the whole team.”

Location guides

New York Proposal Locations.

The full story on every spot above: when the light is best, how private it really is, and what we can set up for you before you arrive.

Bethesda Terrace, Central Park

The Bethesda Terrace is an outstanding architectural feature of Central Park with sandstone arcades, a decorated tile ceiling, and the famous Angel of the Waters fountain standing above the lake. The staircases go down to the lower terrace and highlight the waters and Bow Bridge located in the background. The combination of architectural elements with natural scenery turns this place into one of the most popular locations for taking photos in Manhattan. Perfect spot for portrait photography and wide-angle photos with a fountain and lake.

Bow Bridge, Central Park

The Bow Bridge curves beautifully across the lake in Central Park with its cast iron fences and a simple yet elegant arch, surrounded by trees on either side of it. When autumn comes, the leaves around it turn golden and red, but when summer comes, there are only green leaves reflected in the water. The bridge makes a wonderful location for picture-taking, as parts of the city can be seen through the trees behind it.

Dumbo

The neighborhood is well-known for its cobblestone roads and the picturesque shot that can be taken from Washington Street with the Manhattan Bridge in the foreground and the Empire State Building in the background. The buildings have an interesting texture that is made up of converted warehouses and brick walls. From the waterfront area of the Brooklyn Bridge Park, one can enjoy the spectacular view of Manhattan.

Pier 17

Pier 17 is located in the Seaport area by the East River, where its rooftop provides a direct view of the Brooklyn Bridge and the water. Combining the sleekness of modern glass buildings with the old cobblestone streets of the Seaport area, this place has quite an interesting contrast. With evening lighting and reflections off the bridge, it has quite a vibe.

Rockefeller Center

Rockefeller Center is an extensive Art Deco ensemble defined by its sunken plaza, gilded Prometheus sculpture, and display of flags from all around the world lining up along the promenade. Its limestone walls and geometric ornamentation are iconic, even more so if there is a seasonal ice rink or holiday tree in the background. 30 Rockefeller Plaza looms over everything, giving the whole place its proper scale. Great spot to shoot an architecture photo with a Midtown character.

The Edge, Hudson Yards

The Edge is a cantilevered outdoor observation deck attached to one of the buildings of Hudson Yards that gives you a view from the floor made of glass more than a thousand feet in the air with only sky in all directions. It offers spectacular photographs due to its glass walls with a view of everything a thousand feet below. During the sunset, the entire city glows golden with the view of the Hudson River and the downtown skyline below.

Vessel, Hudson Yards

The Vessel is an intertwining staircase made of spiral-shaped steel and copper tones, which was created to become the center of Hudson Yards. The geometrical shape of the Vessel, combined with a symmetrical layout of its patterns, creates impressive symmetry from almost any point of view, especially when seen straight upwards through the honeycomb staircase system.

Top of the Rock

"Top of the Rock," with its rooftop terrace, provides a full view of the skyline that looks directly south through Fifth Avenue and all the way down to the Empire State Building, which is probably one of the most recognized skyline shots in New York City. Several levels allow you to shoot the skyline at various elevations, with Central Park clearly visible in the north. At sunset and blue hour, the skyline becomes a dazzling grid of lights.

Times Square

Times Square is overwhelming with its huge LED screens, crowdedness, and bustling atmosphere day and night. It is one of the most visually rich locations in New York City due to the sheer size of the advertising and its brightness, especially at nighttime. Yellow taxis, marquees on Broadway, and red steps at TKTS contribute to the chaos that Times Square has. Ideal location for dynamic shots.

High Line Park

The High Line is located on an old elevated freight line running along the west side of Manhattan. The combination of an industrial steel construction with a natural planted environment makes it quite unique to New York City. Views of the Hudson River, Meatpacking District, and Hudson Yards can be seen from the path as it heads north. Perfect for urban, green, and street photography.

Tribeca

The streets of Tribeca feature converted cast iron industrial buildings, cobblestone roads, and less bustling activity compared to the rest of Manhattan. The historical industrial buildings in Tribeca with their tall windows and loading dock doors make up the textured background of the location. The presence of tree-lined streets and low pedestrian traffic makes it easier to capture clear street photos.

Brooklyn Bridge

One of the most famous bridges in the world, with gothic stone towers and a web of cables that provide a spectacular view of the Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines. This bridge provides natural leading lines into the distant skyline through the use of the cables and stone structure of the bridge. Walk it early in the morning, before the crowds arrive, for the calmest shots.

Gantry Plaza State Park

A park located on the waterfront in Queens which offers a classic, clear view of the Manhattan skyline on the other side of the East River, but with much smaller crowds than on the Manhattan side. The remains of the gantry cranes that exist within the park add to the distinct industrial skyline in the picture.

New York Public Library

The grand Beaux-Arts branch at Fifth Avenue, complete with the renowned stone lions, where the impressive stairs and columns provide a perfect backdrop for an architectural photograph of New York City. This grand facade with the impressive stairs makes for a rather majestic and formal background that is rare even in Midtown.
