Why Paparazzi Proposals

Why a team, and not one photographer you found online.

At Paparazzi Proposals we understand that you have a big life decision ahead, and it needs all kinds of support: from emotional guidance to help with logistics and planning. Over a decade of working and learning, we have developed protocols to make sure your proposal is executed in the most beautiful way.

A proposal is not just a photographer. Behind your date there is a team: coordinators and planners, photographers, editors and decorators, drivers and musicians. No last-minute cancellations, no no-shows, no unexpected changes (unless the weather doesn't permit). We are here for you, through what is likely one of the most important events of your life.

“You can go with one photographer you found online. It's not impossible, but you're taking a risk: we often get couples who are going through a last-minute cancellation, and we do our best to accommodate them, but a proposal planned on a tight deadline rarely ends up as perfect as you want it to be. Come to us from the beginning, and we'll support you with the whole team.”

Location guides

San Francisco Proposal Locations.

The full story on every spot above: when the light is best, how private it really is, and what we can set up for you before you arrive.

Golden Gate Bridge Overlook (Presidio)

At Golden Gate Overlook, one finds oneself at eye level with the giant orange towers of the bridge, which means that there is nothing that obstructs the view of the bridge except for some vegetation on the coast. It is free for entry, and access is possible around the clock - it is quietest early in the morning. With sunset comes the reflection of the sun rays on the towers and the creeping fog that covers the water.

Baker Beach

Baker Beach is located on the coastline with the Golden Gate Bridge towering right above it, such that its proximity becomes quite overpowering. The hours from 3pm to 5pm offer a golden light which hits the sand, waves, and the cables of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is a real working beach, so expect some driftwood on the sand and ships passing under the bridge. It would be ideal for portrait shots because of the golden light and distinctive background.

Palace of Fine Arts

A magnificent domed Beaux-Arts rotunda overlooking a calm lagoon – one of the most romantic and most photographed buildings in San Francisco. The rotunda with columns, reflected in the lagoon, gives the place an elegant, almost European look. Ducks and swans enhance the romantic atmosphere.

Muir Beach Overlook

An overlook situated on the cliffs north of the city, offering panoramic views of the wild coastline of Marin County and the Pacific Ocean below. The sheer drop-off provides a wild, untamed vibe that is very different from the refined locations that can be found in the city.

Pier 7

It is a tranquil wooden pier that leads right into the water with beautiful views of the Bay Bridge and the water – a peaceful place to take someone for a proposal in a less busy waterfront area. The wooden pier has a good natural leading line all the way to the bridge.

Crissy Field

Former airfield that has been converted into a waterfront park that features open grounds, beach, and direct line of sight of the Golden Gate Bridge. There’s plenty of room to set up decor or bring friends and family along. There’s no denying why it is among the best places in the city – the bridge view is unmatched.

Japanese Tea Garden

It is the oldest public Japanese garden in the USA, located in Golden Gate Park and complete with koi ponds, pagodas, and the stunningly red bridge. The well-thought-out landscaping creates a meditative atmosphere that you will not find at any other location on this list. There is a unique photo-op at each turn in the garden.

Embarcadero Waterfront

An extended walkway with piers along the bayfront area, palm trees, and views of the Bay Bridge – not hard to find a more secluded section free of all the hustle and bustle. The walkway surrounded by palms provides a slightly different vibe compared to the more rugged parts of the city coastline.

Treasure Island

An artificial island in the middle of the bay, offering some of the most amazing views of the San Francisco skyline without obstruction. Shooting the skyline from out on the water provides a sense of perspective and scale that you can't get when viewing the skyline on land.

Conservatory of Flowers

One of the most beautiful garden settings in the city is a Victorian wood-and-glass greenhouse in Golden Gate Park, surrounded by well-kept flower gardens. The elaborate white greenhouse has a timeless appeal and almost a fairy tale-like feeling to it. Seasonal flowers in front of it create colorful displays year-round.

Lands End / Coastal Trail

The trail, which is located on the northwestern side of San Francisco, is rugged in nature, offering stunning views from the top of the cliffs to the nearby Golden Gate Bridge. The windswept cypress trees add an interesting atmosphere, making it popular for romantic walks.

Half Moon Bay Coastal Trail

A bluff-top trail over the Pacific, about forty minutes south of the city. Wildflowers along the path, rocky coves below, and on a weekday morning hardly anyone else around. Dress warm, the fog rolls in fast.

Extremely professional. Easy to work with. Most importantly, my fiance couldn’t be happier, totally caught her off guard and everything came out perfect. This was almost a month ago and she still can’t stop talking about how perfect everything was executed.

He knew what he was doing the second he got there. He gave tips on how my brother should have his girlfriend walk through the door, and even got down on one knee himself to make sure the position was perfect. The photos were ready 2 days later.

I swear I was looking for him during the walk, and he is like a ninja! It amazes me to this day that after our first quick chat, I literally never saw him again.
